Fletchamoore changed hands a few times until November 1996, when its owners approached Kevin with an offer to sell the company to him.

Kevin was working under the name of Rigler Construction at the time, laying patios and small driveways and subcontracting a lot of Fletchamoore’s block paving works.

During that period, the UK was facing a recession and work was scarce. Despite this, Kevin and his wife Debbie extensively discussed the offer, taking into consideration their young family’s needs. Kevin had enough faith in acquiring the Fletchamoore name that, within a few weeks, they agreed to take on the company. As of 1st December 1996, Kevin became the official director of Fletchamoore, taking on all the staff who were currently working there.

Most of the employees who worked at the company during that period stayed on until their retirement. Some of them stayed long past their official retirement age, simply because they didn’t want to leave! Currently, Ian is the only member from that team who still works with the company. He uses his years of on-site knowledge and training as a Technical Draftsman in our office’s estimating team.

As these staff members retired, their roles were filled with new faces eager to work under the Fletchamoore name. Kevin and Debbie’s children Joe and Kirstie also began to work within the company, gaining considerable knowledge and experience. Other family members took on roles within the company too, making it a truly family-run business.
