The team at Fletchamoore were recently contacted by Southern Playground Services, a company specialising in the installation and repair of playgrounds in the South. They asked us to resurface the playground at Spetisbury Church of England Primary School to make it safer and easier for students to use.
About the Project
We tackled two resurfacing projects for Southern Playground Services: the first was for a 110m² area, while the second was for a smaller 58m² area. We used the same materials and techniques for both jobs.
After evaluating the sites, we settled on a depressed dense macadam surface course. This would be tough enough for heavy foot traffic and would provide a smooth, level playing space – perfect for running around, playing sports, and having fun with playground equipment, without worrying about tripping and falling.
We needed to carry out and complete the project during the school holidays, so we wouldn’t disrupt lessons when the children came back. We managed to finish the project well before the holidays ended, all while working around our client’s schedule and making sure everything was as stress-free as possible for them.

As you can see, the freshly resurfaced playground areas provide a tidy and level surface for children to freely run and play. Even better, the macadam is durable enough to withstand years of use, even with the hustle and bustle you’d expect in a busy school.
